After Annapolis

Results of the Annapolis Peace Conference are mixed, but some genuine momentum may have been generated. Great coverage of the event and its aftermath is available from the BBC, Christian Science Monitor, and Al Jazeera English.

And here are a few things you may not have seen:

• Foreign Policy Passport reprinted a joke told by one of the conference delegates.
• The State Department's blog offered several "behind-the-scenes" observations by the organizers of the conference.
• Columnist Frank Gaffney made a bizarre connection between the conference and gang rape.

Update: The United States attempted to pass a U.N. Security Council resolution endorsing the Annapolis agreement. Although the resolution had widespread support on the council, it was withdrawn due to Israeli complaints.
