U.S. President Barack Obama, along with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, visited Thailand, Burma, and Cambodia as part of his continued foreign policy "pivot" to the Asia Pacific region. In so doing, he became the first president to visit either Burma (Myanmar) or Cambodia.
In Burma, Obama visited with President Thein Sein and democratic activist and member of Parliament Aung San Soo Kyi. In a professorial speech at the University of Yangon, Obama encouraged Burma to continue its democratic reforms. For more, read here.
