Barry Kolodkin is a former writer for ThoughtCo on the topic of U.S. foreign policy, especially as it relates to Eastern Europe. Kolodkin career in international business and banking spanning more than 15 years. He was a Special Counselor to the Prime Minister of Romania and an advisor during the first Ukrainian investment promotion, InvestUkraine. Kolodkin worked as a consultant to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and with large international firms such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Booz Allen, and the World Bank. He was a senior evaluation manager with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) during the Greek banking crisis. 

In addition to his career as an international business consultant, Kolodkin is a prolific writer. He is the lead contributor to The Best-Practice Guide for a Positive Business and Investment Climate, translated into four languages. 

Education

Barry Kolodkin holds a Master of Arts degree in International Affairs from the Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. He graduated with a bachelor arts degree in Political Science from Brandeis University.
