This ancient trail is used by animals and nomads moving from Ethiopia through Djibouti. It runs past an oasis which also feeds a water well built and maintained by U.S. military personnel.
The personnel are part of the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) headquartered at Camp Lemonier in the tiny nation of Djibouti.
