The United Nations Building sits along First Avenue (between 42nd and 45th street) in New York City. The building opened in 1952 and is considered a striking example of the International Style of architecture.

The tall glass covered structure houses the U.N. Secretariat. The lower, swooping building with a central dome is home to the United Nations General Assembly.
